My final task

For my final task I have decided to do print(magazine). I have chosen to do this because it is the one I enjoyed the most and although my first grade was only an E I feel I can improve on this. I am going to do a music magazine and have researched different magazine covers including some from last years course this has inspired me to improve on my currennt standard.

Media

For my front cover I used the schools colour scheme Green and a little bit of red.


I used a shocking image to catch the readers eye and I also included two other photos to hint at the reader what is inside. My title font looks like it could have been written by a student which appeals to the reader as they are of the same age. I used a spiky graphic to pull in the readers attention. I chose my main picture because it challenges media conventions because it is gritty and non-superficial. It represent student daily struggles and the youth of today doing positive things like helping the enviroment (the bin competition). School students would buy the magazine because it is relevent to them and their school life.


I use informal short launguage to relate to my target audience. I have slighty developed my knowledge on Photoshop I still need to practice just a little more.

For my contents page I decided to keep it simple and bring through the colour scheme from the cover page. I used only one image to emphasise the simple yet effective feel.

New tasks

For my next task I am most likly to do the magazine task and then eventually the music magazine. Im chosing to do this because I prefer print to moving image and would like to develop my skills on paint.net and other simiular programs.

Presentations

Bell, sii (beth) and I did our presentation today for the lit fest. It wasnt really finished to the best standard but i'll post the pictures in a bit because i don't have them on me at the momento. The whole idea was really to get the school involved so we used a pin-board theme for our poster and a cartoon image of April and Will but it was originally a photo so it's like a mix of fiction and non-fiction. Is any one this making sense god im tired... Two secs need to change my song. done.
Our cartoon image was the logo but it worked into our poster really well because it's like another photo. Hmmm you'll understand when you see the pictures.
I liked that the other groups idea were really different to our's but we all had a recurring theme that ran through our presentations. That will do for now.

I have chosen to study media because-I didn't at GSCE and regreted it.
The last film i watched was- 500 days of summer ( we hate summer she's evil)

If i could be on a t.v show it would be- The o.c (i'd be seth)
My radio is usally tuned into- Radio one or kiss
I use the internet for- Facebook, Videos, Homework, staring at pictures of Heath Ledger
The last magazine I read was- cosmpolitian
If I had to choose I would rather be- A advertising executive.
The song that I wish I had written is-The killers- Mr brightside
The advert that recently caught my eye is- The dell advert (lolliepop lolliepop)
If I could interview any celebrity/famous person it would be- Heath Ledger to tell him not to die and the Dalai Lama because Miss Pope says he's a cool dude.
If I was a brand I would be- Channel because its amazing.

Orange wednesdays 8-|

I went to the cinema again last night and watched "500 days of summer" and it was soo good!
Cameron from ten things i hate about you is in it and he's amazing. It jumped around from time to time but it was easy to keep up and even though your meant to end up liking summer it was just to hard to. Not a fan of hers.

Introduction

Im Charlie and I have decided to take Media Studies as an A-Level. I recently went to the cinema and watched "Time travellers wife" but didn't really enjoy it as it went on for to long and it annoyed me how he kept disappearing. I know it was the point but can't the man just stay in one place?
I read the "Other side of the story" I did enjoy this but it was completely predicatable and by the firts page i could already guess last page.
I love will hes sat next to me.
